Zara Redesign
As a group, we were tasked for redesigning an ecommerce website of our choosing. After looking at multiple websites, we chose to redesign the Zara website. The project was created in Adobe XD and worked on over the course of a week.
The original Zara Navigation model was incredibly confusing for users. On the home page alone, it is difficult for users to find the navigational menus in order to get to the pages they are looking for. Once they can get to the menus they are bombarded with options, several of which are extremely similar. Due to the similarities between menu titles a user can easily find themselves on the wrong page which may frustrate them and cause them to abandon the site. Even within a page, such as the women's tops shown above, the navigation changes from being on the side to over top. It is not consistent across pages and therefore makes navigation frustrating for users.
We wanted to redesign the website to be easier for users to navigate and see while also trying to keep some of their identity. We kept their black and white design. Zara has a bit of a minimalistic design, where there are not a lot of words but more images which we tried to emulate in our design. And we did not want our pages to look like a typical ecommerce website, so we went with a more non-traditional layout to present the items.
